There’s a category labeled “Food”? So Automatic Mechandising or whatever is admitting that what usually gets sold under “Candy,” “Salted Snacks,” and Tejas Epicure isn’t actually food? Brave.
What about the vend-o-mats at hotels that offer up swimsuits and toothbrushes? Mind you, I only assume that they exist, or at one time existed. I could just be making up an imaginary memory. If not, does gum count as a food? What about life savers?
I’m guessing in Japan you could get laptops and mail-order brides at vend-o-mats…
I once bought slippers from a hotel vending machine! They were for a friend who lost a sandal out the car window on a road trip. (He was sleeping & no one noticed when his right sandal flew away. It’s probably still roadside in Missouri.) The slippers made for good replacement footwear. Not super stylin’, but very useful.
Also, my vending machine at work sells sticks of cheese & meat together, sans refrigeration. Yuck. Never tried it, never will.
I found this treasure of a treat in a mall’s candy store about 2 years ago. I am thankful that the vending machine at my current job stocks them. That’s right, I can get that cinnamon goodness in a vending machine in Louisiana!
As the only choice from our office vending machine that appeared satisfactory when my 10 am hunger pangs came, I stumbled upon Big Tex almost out of necessity. Boy am I glad I did! Now its the perfect choice for a snack any time between 9 and 5!
Nothing beats the Big Texas – it’s like a whole other pastry. Chock full o’ Cinnimony Goodness.
I saw this thing in the vending machine and walked away laughing. Then I looked up this Pastry of the Year award and laughed some more. Then I was somehow drawn back to the vending machine and had to try the Big Texas. It is actually really good. It’s even better if you heat it up. For 30 seconds at least. 10 seconds won’t do it justice. It’s also extremely bad for your health, but what do you care? You are eating food out of a machine.
WE HAVE BEEN AT OU MEDICAL IN OKLAHOMA CITY FOR 5 MONTHS WITH MY DUAGHTER, WE EAT THESE ALL THE TIME..THEN WE GET RELEASED FROM OU AND MOVE TO A NURSING HOME (TEMPORARY WE HOPE) AND THERE THEY ARE AGAIN YOU CANT GET AWAY FROM THESE THINGS, THEY ARE GREAT…IVE EVEN GOT MY MOM AND MY SISTER AND OTHER DAUGHTER HOOKED ON THEM….IT HAS MADE MANY A GOOD BREAKFAST FOR US THESE LAST FEW MONTHS…AND THE GOOD THING IS EVERYWHERE WE GO AND FIND THEM THEY SEEM TO BE GETTING CHEAPER.

we have the big texas at our school selling with an entrepenur class and i do have to say the big texas is a hearty treat for a big ol’ boy such as my self although ive noticed a recent side effect of extreme erections and sweating but its worth it cause all i think about is BBIIGG TTEEXXAASS !!!!! yeaa!
Me and my friend were actually joking about how in Texas everything has to be bigger than all other states and then hours later he stumbled upon the BIG TEXAS cinnamon roll in our office vending machine, it is big though so I had to agree with that assesment. Sadly when I had a craving for it, there were crappy mini sized cinnamon rolls blocking my access to the big ass cinnamon roll leaving it out of reach. So I have yet to try to the big one, but hopefully it will be as good as you have described it here.
my mom brought like 5 of these home yesterday and I ate one today and it was really good so I decided to google it up and ended up coming to this website.
Good read.
those things are soo good, i have made the vending machine guy start making 2 rows of them, i eat 3 a day
needless to say I am morbidly obese
but Big Texas is my lover and makes me happy and he likes me the way I am
so
hmph
take that Lil Debbie
I just purchased my second Big Texas Cinnamon Roll. I heated it up in the microwave for 25 seconds and it was delicious.
This article is a bit old, so I’m sure you’ll be happy to know that the Big Texas Cinnamon Roll has now won the prestigious Automatic Vender “Pasty of the Year” award for five years straight! ๐
Maybe you could tell me if the ingredients list any partially hydrogentated oils? Are there any trans fats in the Big Texas Cinnamon Roll or did Cloverhill remove them? Thanks!
Last I checked (when I had one last week!) they still had partially hydrogenated soybean oil in them… a small price to pay when you eat one once every 3.5 years. ๐
Hmmm, I eat these most mornings, but after thinking about 450 calories, maybe I’l drop to every other morning ๐
They are quite good.
